In March 2019, the European Commission launched a new online tool called “eLeniency”, designed to make it easier for companies to submit statements and documents as part of leniency and settlement proceedings in cartel cases, and in non-cartel cooperation cases with the Commission, intended for acknowledgement of an illegal cartel or abuse of dominant position.
The eLeniency system provides the same guarantees in terms of confidentiality and legal protection as under the traditional procedure.
